🚨 Latest Publications by LTrace – New AVO equation! 🚨

We’re excited to share two new works by our co-founder Dr. Leandro Passos de Figueiredo and Professor Dr. Dario Grana on a new AVO formulation expressed in terms of P-impedance and Vp/Vs ratio!
The new derivation was motivated by challenges encountered during facies classification with BLI tests on real data. Derived from the classic Fatti equation, Gardner relation, and differentiation rules, this novel approach brings fresh insights to seismic inversion workflows.
The work was developed as part of the Bayesian Learning consortium at the University of Wyoming, coordinated by Prof. Grana.
📝 One is a conference paper accepted at the upcoming EAGE Annual Meeting, where we present the derivation and benchmark it against other AVO approximations.
📚 The other is a full article accepted in Geophysics by SEG, where we apply the formulation within a Bayesian Linear Inversion framework. This work was co authored with Enrico paparozzi and Alessia Ravasio from Eni.
And there’s more: over the past few weeks, we’ve implemented this new equation into our BLI plugin for OpendTect by dGB Earth Sciences! 🚀
